Living in a beach-front Sydney suburb, I thoroughly enjoy donning snorkel and goggles at the end of a hard day's work and taking a dip. I often swim with one of the local blue gropers, and take delight at getting deep enough to shake hands with the octopus, or follow a school of gar fish as they swim below unsuspecting swimmers doing laps.

On other days, I might be found running round Centenary Park, keeping in shape for some future occasion.

I am known amongst my family as a keen cook, and my offerings usually get scoffed off at morning tea gatherings in my faculty. As for main meals, hand me my BBQ tongs, and I am cooking! I do a mean BBQ baked fish, or hand me a 1o cm steak, and I will show you what I can do with it.

Brewing has taken a hold on my family, following my adoption of a Malt Shovel kit last year. We take great delight in sharing recipes and techniques, and the purchase of a small refrigerator that will control the brewing temperature is sure to take quality to new heights.

Adopting wayward pets is another of my pastimes. Have a look at these:

I have two birds in my life. The one that has been round the longest is Sherbert, the cockatiel. She has been with me for the past 14 years, and considers herself a human member of the family. Sherbert was hand-raised as a baby, and I still have the spoon that we used to pour porridge down her gurgling throat. She's a bit noisy when being ignored, but given some love and attention, is putty in my hands.
